I was drawn to Ireland after the words of John O’Donohue came alive in my heart one evening when my yoga teacher read his poem, “The Inner History of a Day.” As I heard him speak about the West of Ireland where he grew up (http://www.onbeing.org/program/john-o-donohue-the-inner-landscape-beauty/203), I knew it was a place where my feet needed to stand on the earth.
In the summer of 2014, my husband and I took our first international trip to Ireland. It was an experience that impressed me deeply and the wild, mystical green of Ireland made me feel like I’d found home. I prepped the backgrounds of an art journal and took it with me. Along the way I added maps, clippings of pamphlets, ticket stubs, and eventually photos when I returned home. Here are my art journal pages.
